This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and disclose personal information when you use the Locentra website or mobile application to connect homeowners with verified trade professionals (“tradies”) in Australia.

By using Locentra, you consent to the collection and use of your information in accordance with this Privacy Policy.

1. Information We Collect

We may collect the following types of information:

a. Personal Information

Full name
Email address
Phone number
Address or location details (for job postings)
Profile images and uploaded photos
Business details for tradies (ABN, licenses, trade category, portfolio images)

b. Account & Usage Information

Login credentials (securely encrypted)
Job postings, applications, messages, reviews, and assignments
Credit usage, lead purchases, and transaction history
Device, browser, and app usage data
IP address and approximate location
Error logs and analytics data
Referral activity, including your referral code and the link between a referrer and a referred account

c. Fraud Prevention Information

We record IP address and device/browser information at login, and may compare this information between accounts to detect multiple accounts being used for self-dealing (e.g. a tradie purchasing a lead for a job they posted themselves) or fraudulent use of the referral program (e.g. an invited account sharing the same IP address or device as the referrer). This information is used solely to protect the integrity of the platform.

d. Payment Information

Payments are processed securely by third-party providers such as Stripe and PayPal
Locentra does not store full credit card or banking details

2. How We Use Your Information

We use collected information to:

Create and manage user accounts
Facilitate job posting, lead purchases, and tradie assignment
Enable communication between homeowners and tradies
Process payments, refunds, and credits
Send service notifications and updates
Prevent fraud, misuse, spam, and platform abuse
Improve platform performance and user experience
Show location-relevant content, such as the number of verified tradies active in your state, based on your approximate IP-derived location
Comply with legal and regulatory obligations

3. Sharing of Information

We may share information only as necessary with:

a. Other Users

Limited profile information (e.g. name, rating, business details) is shared between homeowners and tradies when relevant to a job or lead.

In addition, once a tradie account is approved, their business profile — name, trade category, verified status, rating, and any portfolio photos they've uploaded — is displayed publicly on Locentra's website, including in our public “Find a Tradie” directory and on their individual profile page. This is visible to any visitor, whether or not they are logged in or have posted a job, and these public pages may be indexed by search engines such as Google. Locentra never displays a tradie's phone number, personal email address, or home address on these public pages.

b. Service Providers

Trusted third-party services used to operate Locentra, including:

Stripe and PayPal (payments)
Supabase (database and authentication)
Vercel (hosting)
OneSignal (push notifications)
Brevo (transactional email — account notifications, the contact form, and job alert emails)
Google Analytics, Google Ads, and Google AdSense
Meta (Facebook/Instagram advertising pixel)

c. Legal Requirements

Government authorities or law enforcement where required by law

4. Data Security

We take reasonable steps to protect personal information, including:

Secure authentication and role-based access control

While reasonable security measures are in place, no online service can be guaranteed to be completely secure. Users are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of their login credentials.

5. Cookies & Tracking Technologies

Locentra and its service providers use cookies and similar tracking technologies on our public website pages for the following purposes:

Maintaining session state and remembering your preferences
Google Analytics and Google Ads (gtag.js) — to measure site traffic and advertising performance
Google AdSense — to serve advertising
Meta (Facebook) Pixel — to measure the effectiveness of our Facebook/Instagram advertising
OneSignal — registers a browser service worker to enable push notifications (see Section 3b)

You may disable cookies in your browser settings and opt out of push notifications at any time; however, some features of the platform may not function correctly if you do so.

6. Your Rights & Choices

You have the right to:
